I have to agree with the other person who answered this. I had a bad experience with DeVry. First off, their admissions counselors are pushy. Their admission counselors are always trying to get students registered as quick as possible. It doesn’t matter if you want to wait or take some time and decide. They want you NOW. And they will even lay guilt trips on to you to get you to register. That’s what my admissions rep did to me.

Two days before class, I decided to withdraw after hearing from DeVry grads who were still struggling to find work. Many employers will either red flag DeVry grads (or any other for-profit school grad) or hire them as cheap labor.

When I withdrew, they tried everything they could to keep me in or get me to log on to my class so I couldn’t get a 100% refund.

So my advice to you is stay away from DeVry. They are in it for the money, not the education, and laughing all the way to the bank. I cringe when I see TV commericals for these for-profit schools. Find a community college or state supported school with a online program.

    Hi Vinay
I work for a college that enrolls and specializes in online degree programs. Trying not to sound like I am bashing Devry, but they do not have the best program out there, and they are also very expensive. Don’t get me wrong, most programs that are 100% online are going to be a lot more expensive, but they are about 10,000 more than other programs out there. Be careful when you are on the phone with them because they are very pushy. Try to get them to tell you what your total cost of your program will be from start to finish with all fees included in the price, and if they can’t/won’t do that, you shouldn’t go with them. Please feel free to ask me any questions, I am always willing to help with education, it’s what I do for a living.

I wouldn’t recommend going with a for-profit, online school. If you want to learn online, maybe considering taking classes on an individual basis at a school or search online for tutorials (paid and free). Everything you need to learn is out there, just gotta look for it.
